Morningstar?s Remote Temperature Sensor (RTS) provides very accurate battery charging in solar systems that experience temperature variations during the year. When used with the ProStar? or Tristar? controllers, the RTS improves on-board temperature compensation by measuring the temperature at the battery. When used with the TriStar? controller (no on-board temperature compensation), the RTS adjusts charging for temperature changes at the battery.

User may easily extend cable length up to100 feet (30 meters) using standard cable
Corrects for temperatures from ?30ºC to +80ºC
Protected from lightning surges and short circuits
Defaults to ProStar on-board temperature sensor if RTP fails (open or closed)
