This allows the turbine to be electrically disconnected from the charge controller, while at the same time the turbine is nearly stopped by a short across the turbine output.
The turbine is braked until it almost stands still and can then be moved out of the direction of the wind and lowered or tethered if it remains mounted.
This switch serves as a temporary stop that is not used to stop the turbine for a long time. The force of the wind can overcome the dynamic brake and the generated power is then circulated back into the stator, which burns out the turbine.
